BRAND STRATEGY

Undertaking a brand strategy project will help strengthen your brands' expression in the marketplace. Here are some situations your business might be facing:

  • You are launching a new brand into the marketplace and need to sharpen the positioning

  • Your brand needs to reposition for growth in light of cultural and marketplace trends

  • Your brand has been around for a while; it's facing significant marketplace challenges and requires reinvention

Lila & Company works as a brand coach to help the team find the right expression for the brand through the use of a brand blueprint, a positioning tool to help guide brand development. Using research and analysis, the team will become smarter about their business and more insightful about their consumers. The work culminates in a 2-day on-line session where we will co-create a positioning for the brand – one that is differentiating and sustainable.

Repositioning a Hair Care Brand

A major haircare brand for African-American women was looking to explore different ways to reposition the brand for growth. After a deep dive with consumers and stylists, the brand was ready to develop an articulation of what their brand means. Utilizing insights from research, an overview of their business, a look at inspiring brands and a competitive review – the team co-created the positioning for the brand.

Articulating a Vision for an Eco Brand

A mission-driven firm that created environmentally-friendly bags didn't know what they stood for as a brand. Lila & Company conducted ethnographies with eco-passionate people, and then worked with key stakeholders in a brand blueprint session to develop three different positioning statements that leveraged insights from the research. The company ultimately decided on a core direction, and refocused their efforts on their core lunch items.

INNOVATION

Coming up with new ideas to grow your business can be difficult. Lila & Company identifies compelling ideas that enable brands to grow through innovation. Here are some opportunities your business may be facing:

  • You need an innovation framework to begin to explore brand extension opportunities

  • You have identified compelling consumer insights and need a pipeline of branded ideas to leverage them

  • You want to tackle a ‘white space’ area for your company and you need to identify interesting and compelling areas to mine

Through an understanding of consumers' needs and the market landscape, we can help you articulate a path to growth for your brand or business. We develop ideas that use consumer insights to help frame different new product opportunities for your brand. Using a variety of inputs, we come up with strategically-sound ideas to stretch your brand into existing and new categories.

Ideating for White Space Pet Food Ideas

Lila & Company worked with the internal marketing and R&D teams at a major pet food company to come up with long-range healthy pet food ideas. With insights from ethnographies, we created innovation platforms that we used in a brainstorming session. In our session, we crafted unique pet food products, using an illustrator to help visualize ideas on the spot. Then we created new product concept ideas that brought to life our top ideas and shared them with consumers.

Creating New Product Ideas for a Leading Baking Brand

Lila & Company worked with a beloved baking brand to develop a range of innovation ideas for a new platform in healthy indulgence through portion control. We conducted groups to understand the intersection of opportunities in health and indulgence, and developed a pipeline of creative platforms that leverage insights into healthy treat occasions. Our new product ideas ranged from breakfast ideas to better-for-you indulgent items.

CONCEPT WRITING

We write concepts that bring brand positioning and new product ideas to life. We help get to the heart of an idea by getting clear on the consumer insight and the brand proposition. After honing the idea, we write concepts that speak to your target in consumer-friendly language and peek their interest to learn more. Concepts can be created for early-stage ideas or for more fully-formed brand propositions.

Creating New ‘Room Spray’ Concepts for Millennial Women

A leading scent maker developed a new, lighter aerosol spray to add to its line of room spray products. The company wanted to explore this new line of premium products with young, home-involved women and understand the feasibility of the line through concepts. Using the insights uncovered in research, we created four concepts that were tested with consumers in BASES. The product was ultimately launched in 2018 in enticing fragrances like Mandarin & Mimosa and Jasmine & Cedarwood.

Developing Concepts for A Tea Brand

A major beverage company wanted to develop new product concepts for a leading tea brand. Having held an internal brainstorming session and creating a bank of ideas, the ideas were loosely articulated. Lila & Company took those ideas, polished them and articulated them into single-minded concepts that were tested with consumers, some of which were further developed into real tea products.
